About

Welcome to Mendip Flower Company, growers of British seasonal cut flowers and foliage. We are a developing flower farm, on the edge of Midsomer Norton near Bath, surrounded by the rolling hills and green pastures of Somerset. The farm is conveniently located on the A367, with Wells, Bath and Frome only 20 minutes away.

Visit our Flower Shop or contact us if you are interested in buying some local seasonal flower bunches, bouquets or buckets.

Florists, we would love you to sign up for our wholesale mailing list, starting 2026.

Our farming practices aim to work with nature, not against it. Read more about our sustainability promise and why buying locally grown seasonal flowers is so important here. We are also proud members of Flowers from the Farm, a UK trade association promoting a financially and environmentally sustainable local cut flower industry.

*NB. The flower farm is not open to the public. Visits to us are by appointment or pre-booked event only.

A passion for horticulture and garden design, with a dream of being able to grow more and keep more animals than our ex-commercial hens, led our little family to buy our smallholding. The dream was quickly put on hold, as the farmhouse needed a lot of work, the outbuildings were falling down, the garden was full of buried carpet, neglected plants, swamped with nettles, bind weed and ground elder. The surrounding land was a tangle of brambles and buried rubbish. It was and still is a huge renovation project. Our new home quickly became affectionately known as, 'the money pit', but we had fallen in love and could see such potential. Slowly but surely, we have worked tirelessly, and the space is being transformed, many original features and beautiful plants are being revived.

Like many who get the flower bug, and despite all the work we've had to do, the cutting garden has grown every year. I have always loved growing but wanted to learn more about the mechanics of floristry, so went on to complete a course at my local college. I really enjoyed learning about professional floristry but was disappointed at the use of floral foam, plastic packaging and imported flowers during the course.

This set me off on a path to find out more about the cut flower industry, and I found the statistics shocking. Conscious of the environmental impacts typically associated with flower farming, and with the help of my ever patient husband and two sons, I decided to try growing sustainable cut flowers and foliage on a larger scale, making sure to be chemical-free and operate only using regenerative techniques, from this, Mendip Flower Company was born.
